Terraces made of bamboo are a real eye-catcher. But only if they look clean and well-kept. Is there a need to catch up? Then grab the sponge and off you go.

However, to keep the natural beauty of bamboo decking, you have to keep the terrace clean, clean it with water twice a year and treat it with patio oil from time to time. After a short time, the difference between a well-kept and an unkempt terrace can be easily recognized. So it's worth investing a little time and effort.
Keep the bamboo terrace clean regularly
Always keep your decking as free of dirt as possible. You can easily get rid of dust and other surface impurities such as leaves or pine needles by sweeping them off. Fresh bird droppings can be removed with a damp kitchen towel.
Excrement that has already dried off is first scraped off with a flat knife and then removed the remaining wafer-thin layer with a cloth or sponge. Also make sure that water does not accumulate at any point on the bamboo terrace for a long time. The risk of rotting should not arise in the first place.
Cleaning bamboo floorboards - how to do it
At least twice a year - preferably once in spring and once in autumn - you should thoroughly clean the bamboo decking.
❶ Use lukewarm water and a scrubbing brush or a powerful hand brush, which must not be equipped with metal bristles. Also, do not use harsh cleaners.
❷ After you have loosened the dirt on the surface with a scrubbing brush or brush, it can be easily rinsed off with clear water. Choose a warm, dry day for cleaning so that the moisture can dry off quickly.
If the handwork with brush and water is too tiring for you, you can alternatively use a pressure washer. Set a low pressure level so that the boards are not damaged. First test the result in a well-covered place, for example under the terrace bench or where flower pots are normally placed.
Oiling the floorboards prevents rapid graying
Bamboo terrace boards are exposed to weather influences such as sunlight, heat and rain, which initiate a natural aging process. You cannot stop this process, which is initially visible as a gray coloring of the planks. Regular treatment with patio oil can significantly slow down wood aging. There are special care oils for the treatment of bamboo decking. During my research I came across two different shades:
»Bamboo care oil coffee
»Bamboo care oil espresso
Oiled planks are less exposed to UV radiation than untreated bamboo due to the pigments contained in the oil. In addition, water penetrates oiled surfaces only with difficulty and the planks dry faster after a downpour.
»By the way: There are both untreated bamboo decking boards and boards that have already been pre-treated in the factory. However, if your decking is lacking protection, you shouldn't wait too long to oil it.
Not everything is that simple

Bravo, what phrase..., an excellent idea
It is a pity, that now I can not express - it is compelled to leave. I will be released - I will necessarily express the opinion.
